Debutanten Sandra Luna har en sångstil som är mer traditionell, nästan klonad på 1940-talets Nelly Omar som hon beundrar. Men lyssnar man noggrannare hör man att hon är arg och det råder definitivt inget tvivel om den saken när man ser henne framträda.

Hon skivdebuterade i eget namn 2003 med albumet Tango Varón (ungefär "Machotango") men har sjungit tango sedan hon var sju och uppträdde i hemkvarteren Mataderos, Buenos Aires slakteriområde där tangon har djupa rötter. Skivbolaget som lanserar henne i Europa gör en poäng av hennes genuina bakgrund. I Sandra Lunas repertoar finns låtar av klassiska textförfattare som Discépolo, Homero Manzi, Eladia Blázquez och helt nya kompositioner med en samhällskritisk udd.

När Sandra Luna sjunger på Södra Teatern i Stockholm river hon upp Argentinas oläkta sår. Hon tillägnar en låt "nationens hjältar som åkte till floden för vår skull". De många argentinarna i publiken förstår att hon talar om alla de oppositionella som dränktes i Rio de la Plata under militärjuntans "smutsiga krig".

— Det var så mycket man inte fick nämna på 1970-talet när jag började sjunga, säger hon. Jag var ju väldigt ung då och förstod inte varför, men jag blev hela tiden tillsagd. Texter som tog upp sociala problem och folkets erfarenheter var förbjudna. Det var förbjudet att tänka.

Sandra Luna sjunger också om dagens problem i den ekonomiska krisens Argentina. Carritos Cartoneros handlar om de utblottade på gatan som drar sig fram på att samla kartonger.

— I det Argentina jag kände som liten fanns det inte frihet, säger hon. Nu har vi fått den, men vi har också fått tiggare.
